Danny Lee Ford II is a South Carolina farmer, business owner, husband, father, pilot and lifelong advocate for the land and the people who depend on it.

Farming isn’t something Ford talks about—it’s something he lives. As a current grower and rancher, he understands firsthand what it takes to keep an operation running in today’s economy. From navigating federal and state regulations to finding reliable markets and managing labor, Ford has experienced the challenges South Carolina farmers face everyday.

Ford’s commitment to agriculture is deeply rooted in family. He is the son of former Clemson football head coach, Danny Ford, and grew up around the values that define South Carolina—hard work, accountability, teamwork and service. Watching his father shaped his conviction that proven leadership means listening, responsibility, and earning the trust of the state you represent.

Ford is compelled to run for South Carolina Commissioner of Agriculture because he is passionate about community, steadfast in pursuit of reform and believes the agency should be led by someone who understands agriculture from the ground up, not another career politician. He has seen how decisions made without farmer input can increase costs, limit opportunity and put family farms at risk.

As Commissioner, Ford will bring a strong voice for South Carolina farmers. He believes in protecting farmland for future generations and ensuring the Department of Agriculture works alongside farmers—not above them.

Danny Lee Ford II is committed to being a bridge between agriculture and the public by ensuring food standards, supporting economic growth and innovation for farmers and enforcing regulations that protect all the citizens of South Carolina.
